James Tamim

Hi, I'm James, an EU digital policy analyst in the making.

I write about the European Union’s digital strategy looking at the policymaking process of tech-related legislation. I also explore the global context and impact of the EU’s decisions in this industry and write about salient technological developments that impact society internationally.

In 2024, I graduated from the London School of Economics with an MSc in European and International Public Policy where I wrote my thesis on the causes of the emergence of the GDPR. I also hold a BA in Politics from Birkbeck where I led the Birkbeck Politics Society.

I regularly volunteer as a Wikipedia and Wikidata editor focusing on relevant legislation. I have created the following Wikipedia articles helping millions of readers understand EU Digital Policy: AI Act, DSA, EU Chips Act, Data Act, DGA, CSAR, TTC, and more… I believe that this makes an immense impact on the public’s understanding of EU digital policy while also helping stakeholders make sense of the EU’s complex legislative environment.

Aside from this, I also moderate online communities that are related to technology and politics, most notably r/OpenAI and r/PoliticalScience.

Before focusing on EU digital policy, I worked as a researcher at Delphi International Corporate Research, a freelance French to English Translator, and started a petition on votes for life in the UK.
